I anticipated this movie for so long and my hopes were so high. I was sorely disappointed. Visually the film was stunning, but they messed too much with a masterpiece. Scar's voice was terrible. No one can replace Jeremy Irons. Why he didnt reprise his role, I dont know. He should have. Mufasa was thankfully played by James Earl Jones again, but his redelivery of lines was heartless and flat. They needed to copy the script word for word, tone foe tone. They didnt and it euined classic lines from the original. I felt no emotion at all. I only stayed to watch it out of respect for the original. The hyenas were pathetic. Where was Whoopi Goldberg?! Come on! Ed was supposed to be a mute brainless idiot. They gave him a voice, which tuened him into an annoying space invading copycat side kick. Seth Rogen as Pumbaa was awesome and classic!!! He ruled the movie. Two thumbs up! The songs were flat and emotionless as compared to the original. Beyonce overdid her vocal acrobatics, as usual. The list is just too long. 2/5 stars and thats all going to the stunning visual effects. Sorry. But I will not be buying it on Bluray. The original has not been replaced for me.
