There is hardly another series that have touched me on so many levels so profoundly. As another review said, it's a hidden gem and why it was so obscured and non-advertised is a mystery to me (my wife stumbled upon it and recommended it to me, it was all accidental).
I wish I have discovered it at the time it went live. A pity it was cancelled (although understandable from financial POV but come on, such a series is a gift that should never end). I hope with all my heart that some day it will be revived.
It's making ppl feel better simply watching it. Should it be released now, or during 2020 at least, it'd be an absolute hit. The world needs series which promote values like Sense8 does, and cultivate the feeling of unity, compassion, love, solidarity and optimism in the face of cynicism prevalent in the mainstream media.
I am not quite sure what moved me so much in the series, it's not like it's super innovative or groundbreaking tech-wise (although the montage and the camera work are out of this world). It's so unabashedly, unapologetically optimistic and hopeful that a few episodes in you stop squinting disapprovingly and finally embrace probably the only story in nowadays media that genuinely loves it characters (and sometimes even antagonists).
I wish the Wachowskis all the love and kindness they gave me with this series; they restored my faith in humanity in these darkest of times when Im almost enlisted in the military to defend my country from a warmongering neighbour all in the middle of the deadly pandemic and looming economical collapse. Thank you - from the bottom of my heart. Thank you to the cast and the crew, you are my family now:) You all gave me a glimpse of hope of a better world that is still possible, and inspired to learn about things, cultures and identities I knew little or nothing about before watching it.
Sense8 is a unique experience, television we don't deserve but desperately need.
