I saw โ...Miss Simoneโ after being a fan for nearly 50 years. It was eye opening and often gut wrenching. Must have been adifficult work of love for her daughter, Lisa (Smith?), who I think was the producer and director. I first saw Nina and her band at Carnegie Hall. It was spring 1964. I was 18 & she blew me away with her artistry, passion and stage presence. Then I forgot about that experienceโuntil the album cut at the concert was released in December. I made it a Christmas present to myself. I went to 2 or 3 more concerts in the 70s and have NEVER stopped buying Nina LPs and CDs...and at least one play based on her life and career. There will never be another Nina!
