I think this is probably one of the best magical stories and I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who loves intrigue, storylines with love, the 18th century and most of all fantastical, magical worlds. I'm well into the books also, so I do recommend, maybe reading the book first.
