My friend Jack is a civil engineer and recently built a dome house that appears as if it is floating. He built it on top of majestic sand dune in Ténéré and he said he was inspired to build a beacon of true, moral togetherness in the desert and it is shaped to appear as a raindrop. He said he was inspired to do so after dreaming of a scarlet petal that fell on to his type writer and then transformed into a brown mule that was owned by Hausa traders. The mule kissed him on the lips and tickled him awake and on awaking under an old oak tree a rain drop fell directly on to his forehead. When I was there in April we listened to this album as the sand whipped into a frenzy and the sky growled with heat. It was quite an experience.
