What a fantastic game. The complexity of the motives of the story were intriguing and made the player have to think and feel emotions on a spectrum; not just black and white. I think there is a lot of criticism of this game because players can easily miss the point. This game takes strong emotional empathy for it to be a great game. As long as you view things critically and question motives, you will have a great experience.
Side note: I did not look any any reviews or anything that could give me spoilers before I finished the game. Once I finished it I started to look at reviews, expecting it to be crowed as the new king of games, dethroning GoW4 or the first Last of Us, finding a lot of negative reviews. This was probably the best game I have played to date. I don't know if people had too high of expectations or just missed the point of it all but I came tempered expectations and thought it was fantastic.
