I watched this through my high school years age 12 to 15 and was profoundly influenced by it. It introduced new perspectives and thinking about life and spirit in the same way that Star Trek, Alan Watts, and Alfred Kinsey did. Not only were assumptions shattered, but I also learned that sedentary thinking may be called into question thus creating new truths and realities. It made me question what was right and wrong about my own thinking and helped me to see the contrast between how different cultures intersect when different paradigms collide. Before the series I thought simply in terms of black and white. I thought I knew who the good guys were and who the bad guys were, and Kung Fu showed me the gray that lies between. It taught me how energy flows, and that the way violence plays out between an antagonist and protagonist sometimes switches their identity.
