Puzhu is an excellent film with its slow moving yet suspenseful flow. Mammootty did more than justice to the role, portrayed the psychologically disturbed self centred Hari. I should say that Ratheena has made her directorial debut to be promising and has done a decent work in making the best use of one of the legendary actor's calibre, and the writers have added layers to the character Hari. Notable performances by the Child who played Hari's son and Parvathy as well. The story discusses the political, religious and power ideologies without exaggerating but yet tearing the societal norms. A few seconds on screen is what Indrans need to prove what a brilliant actor he is and how many years Malayalam Cinema has discounted his talent. When there are shades of grey, its none other than Mammootty who plays it with ease.

Brilliant performances by all actors specially GuruSomasundaram Shelly and Tovino thomas. Trying to say too much things in one play, the movie kept reeling on an interesting plot until a melodrama killed the beauty of the movie. Could have been better but for the last few minutes. The film failed to answer few questions or rather I was unable to find the answers. Overall great camera and direction, but somehow the story lost its plot half way.
