Excellent read, highly recommend the book, author and narrator. Compelling story which has factual background of the times and history of the middle to late 1800s.

A book which encapsulates all, love, romance, heartbreak, usual family squabbles, friendships all set during the war years. I read the other two books as well and found these just as absorbing. A book hard to put down and enjoyed every minute of the books made more enjoyable by the narrator.
