This album reflects a cautious, confident step into independence. The contrast of Hill's delicate voice alongside synth beats and, at times, bellowing bass notes characterizes her niche style of pop and R&B. She stands strong on her own. Hill's lyrics soften the sharp corners of lonlieness, but she leaves them still able to cut deeply. Yet, on other songs, Hill's words conjure up warm affection for true love and real relationships.
