Today’s episode on the Grandmother not being a good Grandmother with liver enzymes over double. My Dads friend died due to alcoholism. On his deathbed he was bleeding out thru his skin. I wonder why this wasn’t mentioned as it can happen. Korsokoffs syndrome should have been thoroughly explained. I had a patient in a nursing home. She couldn’t remember where her daughter was very confused, she could end up not knowing who she or anyone is and where they are at. Since the substance effects the pleasure centers of the brain, they crave it. I have a lot of experience working in the substance abuse field. I believe more people need to be court ordered into substance abuse rehab. I’d say when they are court ordered, they are 99% likely to stay and get treatment and graduate the program.
