The recent Superman movie was a huge letdown. It didnโt feel like a Superman film at all โ more like a failed Marvel knockoff. James Gunn completely missed the tone. Instead of delivering an epic, serious story, we got a messy, lighthearted flick with no depth. The plot was almost non-existent, and the characters? Forgettable and poorly written. Superman himself barely felt important โ in fact, Superdog had more screentime! Thatโs just embarrassing.
Visually, some scenes looked like bad cartoons, completely taking away from any sense of realism or awe. And David as Superman? Totally unconvincing. He lacked the presence, charm, and gravitas needed for the role. It made me miss Henry Cavill even more โ he was Superman. This just felt like a slap in the face to Henry and Zack Snyderโs legacy, reducing Superman to a goofy, secondary character in his own movie.
I donโt know what they were thinking, but this wasnโt the Superman fans deserved. It was shallow, silly, and directionless. If this is the future of DC films, Iโm worried. Superman should inspire, not get overshadowed by his dog.
