I rarely go this far to make a point. But after finding this man's platform and reading some chapters from his book online after finding his social media accounts. I really think people need to be aware before buying this book, is the fact that the author behind it, does not advocate and support all adoptees. He has a very big platform and from the surface I thought he had a lot of education and knowledge. The sad truth is he has a big platform that supports his trauma and only his outlook on Adoption. I came across a live and the caption was "adoption is slavery" prove me wrong. The sad realization came from adoptees sharing there heartfelt stories that have a lot of similarities to what he endured as a young child, and others who were adopted into loving homes but advocate for a better system and protecting children and making the public more aware of the system that doesn't always protect children .
To see this man open up a live chat , and have people join his live but only show respect to those who share his opinions and then rip apart people who share there own experiences and question the blanket statement of "adoption is slavery". He then viciously attacks them, calls them names and even worse, tells adoptees they are trauma dumping. All because they clearly felt safe to share and ask questions but were blind sided with Karlos belittling them and arrogantly telling them they are wrong and to get the f*ck off his plat form .
Bottom line, I feel like he needs a lot of help and I hope he can heal . But at the very least please use your platform to help all adoptees. The saddest part was watching these people send him genuine love and questions, but because he didn't agree , he made them feel like they were nothing and it was heartbreaking. A lot of his videos talk about spreading love and awareness and tagging lots of other platforms and websites. I hope he realizes how much damage he can cause by responding like this. His book is full of trauma and heartbreak. He needs to understand he's not the only one who has experienced trauma. Lots of people who read his book and come to his page are looking for support and answers . He needs to do better .
