It’s a bit of fun I guess but it feels like it’s written for children by a child.
A load of fantastical nonsense, full of one dimensional characters that have no nuance or anything at all going on below the surface. What you see is what you get with every one of them.
I know it’s meant to be funny but caught myself rolling my eyes through most of the “funny” bits. The centurion is also not particularly likeable unfortunately.
There’s one short chapter very near the end about a cat and a fox that was far better written than the rest of the book but I won’t be reading the sequel.
Overall a few marginally enjoyable moments but as an avid reader I found this very overhyped. Wouldn’t recommend unless it being bough for a child under 10
