I recently watched the movie *Les Fantรดmes* in Paris and was quite disappointed. Firstly, the actors spoke very poor French, and there were no subtitles provided when they spoke in Frenchโsubtitles were only available for the parts in Syrian.
Secondly, while the filmโs subject is humanitarian, it doesn't portray the story accurately.
Thirdly, the movie attempts to tarnish Lebanon's image by showing the Syrian president as having power there and depicting the country as unsafe, which does not reflect the real political situation. Additionally, they referenced locations such as Beirut airport and the Bekaa Valley but clearly filmed these scenes outside of Lebanon, most likely in Syrian territory.
Overall, the film misrepresents both the language and the geopolitical context, leading to a misleading and unsatisfactory experience.
