I liked the movie until I researched Henri Young. I found out the movie wasn't based on Henri Young's life much. He was convicted of killing two men. He was a bank robber. He was bad before he got to Alcatraz. I read he wasn't killed by guards. He was transferred to another prison and eventually was out on parole and then skipped parole.

They show Sylvester Stallone's character the sheriff breaking into a parking meter, but the rest of the movie wants people to believe he's honest and wants to arrest police who are more dishonest than him. He gets help from Ray Liotta's character who had just committed a couple terrible crimes.
