Entertaining to watch, and the 'video footage' certainly seems to recieve rave reviews. The problem is, most of the footage it is not real. I'm a history buff, and have watched hundreds of films and documentaries on WWII. So at first, I was excited to see new footage I've never seen before. But then I quickly started to notice inconsistancies: uniforms with mismatched components, uniforms with incorrect insignia, airplanes with the wrong insignia, US type weapons being utilized by Germans, Germans on American-like tanks (with certain features morphed over), airmen putting on infantry helmets, brief clips of US soldiers with German helmets and vice versa, the list goes on. Some clips I recognized from fictional movies as well. Then I started to focus on the substance being narrated, and again, quickly noticed significant gaps, poor summations, and some completely inaccurate statements.
Although the series was visually entertaining to watch, I worry people will use this documentary as an accurate historical piece to base their knowledge of WW2 on - it's far from that.
