Absuty terrible novel. What happened to the story-telling skills with which Winspear wrote the Mausie Dobbs series.
Just awful because the whole story from beginning to end was filled with improbable events. Then, at the end, we have Linni tossing a bag of firearms into a lake.
Even the most misbegotten firearms opponent must realize how polutting it is to dump those items into a lake.
