Writing this review with reddish moist eyes as my whole body has dried up due to incessant tears, thanks to this book! Where do I start? I surely can't praise the writing style enough, full of metaphors and figurative sentences. I enjoyed how I had to think deeply and outside the box to understand few lines cause it meant more than what it seemed to convey. The characters are really well written. They had their flaws , their imperfections yet when the time came, the author didn't back out on showing us their humane side. There is so much sadness packed in this book that it overflows into your soul and perhaps if you are someone like me , a person who feels emotions deeply, your eyes would be blinded , your soul might be partially sucked and it would take hours, if not days, to recover. *******Spoilers ahead******** ... I loveeeeee Rudy Stenier and Hans Hubbermann. The death of Rudy left me half dead! I can never get over Liesel and Rudy's love. I wish, Ohhh how I wish, they had confessed their love and kissed eachother. This regret is deeper than Mariana trench. But then hey, that's how life is! It is unexpected,unfair and brutal. No words for Hans's death. Don't even want to elaborate on it cause I know I might cry again.

I completed this book yesterday night and it's as if my heart has been impaled with a sharp knife and the wound can never heal. There is so much depth and emotion in the story and you can relate to so many aspects of the story. This story seamlessly exploits themes of regret, despair and redemption. *SPOILERS ahead* The story made me cry many times but there will always be a great amount of melancholy in me, for Hassan and Amir could never meet again and reconcile. The description of afghanistan under taliban is so succinct, it just goes to show Khaled's mastery over the art. The part where Sohrab was in the hospital room, I was simultaneously praying ,with Amir in the book, for him to be alive. I know it sounds crazy but that's how I felt. And the end! Can it be anymore emotional? Can it be more wholesome?? As beautifully written by the author, " Zindagi migzara "( life goes on). * For you, a thousand times over * :,) ❤️
