Who was in charge here? The writing is cringey, corny, dated, full of social messaging, loaded with overly long lecture-speeches and box checking attempts at what it thinks is current slang. The fashion choices are dowdy and Carries hairstyles are meant to evoque what exactly? Maybe the hair pulled back look of 1920s temperance crusaders? The directing is wooden and many scene twists are obvious and contrived. It is so helpful to see a bad show to truly appreciate sublime ones. And just like that i continue watching this train wreck.
