My lord what a waste of talent. I came out of this movie after 40 minutes - i could take no more of this indulgent exercise. The young lad was excellent and JC did an amazing job for a predictable character ark. So much pretention. Endless cuts - endless layers of sound curation - the Director has gone down the rabbit hole and forgotten his audience. The popcorn was good.

Actually DO believe all the 1 star reviews. Apart from the enduring beauty of Milla Jovovich and the charisma of Dave Bautista - there is nothing to see here. Why? Its too dark, too unloved and too CGI. Like a series of thought bubbles turned into sequential sizzles for unsuspecting cinema goer's. What a shame.

Good grief - lured in by the Directors canon and the horror genre. Positives - the sympathetic portrayal by the father and the discounted wine gums. Negatives - where to start ? A long list but I’m frustrated that I wasted my time and money on this. You want atmospheric horror - re-watch Longlegs by the excellent Oz Perkins. You want lazy one note semi ghost drama - then you know where to go …

Wow - (not good wow). Where to start? Positives - always the best way into a shit show. Hats off to Demi Moore - ironic and brave performance. The conceit - clever and satirical - with a hint of feminism on the back palate. Negatives - how long have we got? Essentially no matter what your tolerance level - you will struggle to make the 1hr 45 min mark - beyond that I salute you. By then it doesn’t know what it wants to be - so fuck it - I’ve got the money - let’s throw some shit against the wall and some of it must stick - surely - nope - it will all slide down and lay steaming on the floor. Did I mention Demi Moore was great? Also the popcorn was off the charts today - young lad balanced the salt butter ratio to a tee - that’s it. Nothing else to say.

Pure torture from start to finish. You can’t get this time back - go walk the dog, be nice to an elderly neighbour or re-watch the iconic original. Anything is better than watching a bunch of teens utter bland cliche dialogue and butcher the treasured themes of the original. That’s it … nothing to see, move along - it makes Longlegs look like The Exorcist …

Good grief this was such a hodge podge. I Lasted 15 minutes - only because of the lighting cinematography and the Coen brothers Scion. Margaret Qualley is such a delight but what on earth was the accent inflicted on her - unintelligible. Such a wasted opportunity for such an obvious but possibly entertaining premise. Don’t waste your hard earnt cash on this.

A previous review captured the tone exactly. Overacting in extremis - self indulgent and frankly … rather boring. A huge fan of his canon - fortunately we could walk out without disrupting too many of the poor souls enduring this try hard awards pitch.

Expected nothing and loved it - cast definitely improvising with the witty screenplay. A joy really - great fun.

I went in with strong expectations - probably my main error. A nice conceit and some good sardonic lines and observations but … there was no one really likeable here … hard to empathise with her in the end. Definitely original which is something to be said in the modern day Sea of Bland and rehash. Give it a go because it has a good voice but more forgettable than I wanted it to be.

Look I just don’t get the other reviews - love the Sparks enigma but the pulse editing and the talking heads format did nothing for me. I left early - didn’t realise it was going to be 2.5 hrs either - dodged a bullet. Think EW has a voice but this didn’t do it for me.
