Mia and the White Lion provides a touching and updated twist to the message of Born Free filmed decades ago. The movie was well acted and credible in a statement regarding the slaughter of an essentially endangered species for hunting vanity, a species far more endangered than when Born Free originally aired. Mia and the Lion (Charlie) realistically bond and age together over a three year period, while Mia confronts parental delusion, miscommunication and out right obstruction in her powerful relationship with Charlie. She ultimately concurs tremendous odds in her successful quest to set Charlie free in a nature preserve. Truly a feel good family movie deserving a view.
