The movie had a lot of potential - I liked how they included much of the original cast - that was a nice touch. RIP gramps and Evan (original cast members) , they were great characters, I wish they could’ve appeared in the new movie! I despised the new characters - the stepsisters were completely insufferable. The plot was also quite confusing - four body switches?? It would’ve been better if it was only the stepsisters whose bodies switched. Another critique is how the movie was very ‘woke’, and it’s annoying because much of the audience of the original movie are older and not ‘with the times’. The movie tried too hard to cater to gen z audience, but in a way that was more cringey than relatable. Overall, I didn’t enjoy the movie. It honestly bored me half to death so I didn’t finish watching it. I will always rewatch the original movie though!
