Personally, the book head off to a great start… but soon I discovered that it made use of a lot of stereotypes (misfit as main character/antique shop/ pretty boy as a love interest)… which at first I was like okay cool, Im giving it a chance. Even tho it started great and did a great job of setting the mistery it became quite predictable for me pretty soon. and by the middle of the book it was obvious to me, what was going on, who was the secret antagonist, etc. by the end, the story felt rushed, the secrets becoming cheesy almost. and by the end of it, it felt like I just watched a badly written netflix show. it seemed like the authort tried to be slick about the hidden agendas, to me it was too obvious. and honestly, the last few pages for me were such a letdown, that the only reaction I had was exhaling sharply and throwing the book away. was quite disappointed and honestly asked myself, why the bar for ‘best selling new york times writer’ is so low these days. I read fanfiction with better plots and concepts. honestly, disappointing
