I gave up midway through episode 3. I really wanted to like it, but how is this supposed to be the story of a crime lord? He’s too nice. Haven’t the writers ever seen a mafia film? This incarnation of Boba Fett wouldn’t last 5 minutes. Sure, he wants to rule with respect, but what does he do to earn it? Not a lot. Mandolorian worked because it built on the Western tropes of a gun for hire protecting the underdog. The set up was in alignment with the nice stories Disney wants to tell. But a crime lord? If he’s not an out and out baddie, he should at least be an anti-hero.
