Couldn't get into it for the life of me. The charm was just completely absent. The story did not know where it wanted to go. The tunes barely acted like themselves and much more of the focus was placed on Lebron and his son. Some parts felt completely fast paced and rushed, as if it was all completed at the last minute. You would figure the tunes reuniting would have been slightly more celebratory, but, it just happens, and there's nothing more to it. Just no charisma in the film whatsoever.
The game only made matters worse, it didn't even feel like a game of basketball and hardly was any basketball even being played. The inclusion of all the IPs was completely unnecessary and served nothing more as WB's flex for HBO Max. Of course I also despise the lack of utilizing more looney tunes characters, as well as my favorite character getting the boot. Hollywood just doesn't know what to do anymore. Just more cash grabs to bait people with nostalgia. I'd give it less than 1 if I could.
