The church represented in the book, "The Prophet of Yonwood", is so misrepresented it borders on childish. And apparently the author has never owned an animal, because they are treated as property, and easily given up. If the author had understood that most animals are considered extensions of one's own family, children that never actually grow up. She never would have wrote what she did.
