As someone who has been sexually assaulted at the age of 6, and then stalked and again assaulted at 10 years old, I find this story very inconsiderate and a mockery towards survivors of sexual violence and pedophilia. It was 15 minutes of agony; I was hoping that things were going to get better in this story, but it never did.
The author first has the victim mercilessly catcalled, harassed, stalked, threatened, and then beaten and/or raped. Worst of all, the predator claims to be the victim's friend and lover when he's really a stranger to her. She's only 18 and he's maybe 30. The harrasser keeps trying to entice the young girl and claims to be doing things to make *her* happy. Worst of all, he threatens to burn down her house if she doesn't "run into his arms like a lover."
To top it off, the victim does mindlessly leave everything behind to run into his arms. She obeys him even after being beaten and/or raped. In fact, she isn't doing this to trick him or anything; the victim seems to be happy or okay with this abomination. It disgusts me to the core that pedophilia and sexual violence was romanticized like this. Violence doesn't get people love, and abuse is certainly not love.
