Two years after their self titled debut, they release American Brunch, with a new member; saxophonist and keyboardist, London Guzman. The first track, ‘Daks Back’ kicks American Brunch off with a rockabilly sound. The song, lasting a little over two minutes, has a more surf rock sound. It consists of amazing saxophone, and an angry, chaotic yet cohesive sound. Once again, ‘Dak’s Back’ has a fun bass line that you can’t help but hum along to. The fifth track, ‘Baby Doll’, has an Elvis love song type of feel to it. You really hear the heartbreak and frustration in his voice. The doo wop sound makes a comeback in ‘Baby Doll’. American Brunch contradicts itself, as it has a vintage yet modern and refreshing sound. Even the cover art looks like it was ripped out of a magazine from the late 1950s.
A perfect album. 11/10.
