From a person who is reading the book for the first time who has watched the original miniseries hundreds of times and is currently following along the new series. I have to say I do not like some of the changes they made in the 2020 version but I do like that they gave us some details the book had that the original miniseries did not put and vise versa. Watching the original was like reading the book If you were a skip reader . In some cases it was real close whereas since I did not read the book and I started the 2020 miniseries beforehand I was confused about it but upon reading the book I did like some of the additions that they put in like Larry going to see Harold and thanking him. That had me puzzled for a bit. One thing I wish they would’ve put in was Nadine‘s hair it showed her arc into insanity mostly black with threads of white and by the end all white. The one thing they could’ve put in the original was a backstory of how Flagg new Nadine how could one woman all of a sudden be Flaggs queen. Why was she chosen. I do like how they add that into the new series. Pet peeve... is it feasible that Harold could have a camera and this camera showing live feeds into his home? I didn’t like how they added that. That’s way too sick especially for a 16-year-old in my opinion. Because let’s face it they gloss over it in both the old arc and the new Harold was 16 years old in the book. Last bit I miss mother Abigail’s real Home it gave her a story her family heritage. Why oh why was she in an old folks home?
Update: watch the bombing epi 5 I felt - - nothing. I don’t recognize my book. I felt nothing for Nick I felt nothing for Harold. How can I feel bad for a young boy when he finally dies I don’t see remorse I see true evil. Trashcan Man OMG he’s horrible. It’s like watching the remake of Halloween with Rob zombie. It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Matter fact this could’ve been a Rob Zombies movie. I’m going to see it to the end but I’m gonna stick with my old classic movie and the book.
