I stopped reading when the main character began to explain to a young girl that basically the Bible is fiction. When the girl expressed concern about her friends being in a lesbian relationship. I’m ever amazed at the presumption of nonbelievers that it is our actions that get us into heaven. Or that we live in a world where everything is ok as long as it makes people happy and they are good people. Love the sinner, hate the sin is the motto of most Christians and most Christians aren’t extremists who take on the role of God. People have choices in life and those of us on earth are commanded to love people. I draw the line at the implication that the Bible is mere fodder.. take what you like and ignore what you don’t. This book wasn’t my cup of tea..
