Womp womp and a half 👎. Absolutely dreadful. The only thing more torturous than having to read this in English, is reading it in French, which was the experience of my peers and I. I fully understand the taboo behind the burning of literature, but perhaps we should start making acceptions? We might not even have to, because I'm not sure if this even constitutes as "literature". Defining this as literature would be an insult to all other works, you would be putting this on the pedestal that holds, Shakespeare, Stephen King, Tolkien, and Dav Pilkey. This book is truly an insult to their names. I wholeheartedly believe that "Road to Chlifa/La Route de Chlifa" should be banished from all nations that truly believe in the preservation of culture, values, and the innocence of their youth.
