Guillermo Lazo

I really enjoyed this. James Cromwell does his usual excellent performance / interpretation. I especially enjoyed his explanation of old growth lumber. Genevieve Bujold is superb as the faithful wife. Ultimately the Cromwell character triumphs over the inspections department. I just wanted to see the "inspector" get his just due but it's a Canadian movie and we all know how polite the Canadians are, except when it comes to ice hockey.

This series actually made me physically ill just watching the first episode. "You've got a ranch the size of Rhode Island and you call me a thief?" is what Gil Birmingham as the Chief tells Costner. Native Americans have been pushed around for so long and in so many ways I couldn't bear to watch this latest depiction. If you have a soul, pass on this.

The Chi depicts people trying to survive on Chicago's Southside. Good acting and stories of real life daily struggles carry the storyline. The characters can't get ahead because they always have their money ripped off in some way. It bothers me to see the characters blow their money on sneakers,TVs, cars. No financial planning. SMH.
