Dan Jones

This was a disappointing waste of Will Smith's talents and a story which must be retold, but not in a story line that spends most of its time in a swamp fighting alligators and snakes and slave owners on the hunt. The movie could have been shortened with less time depicting unrealistic continued successes by the slave owners in tracking Will, finding drops of blood on twigs in the middle of endless swampland, and after days of searching. The real story of slave abuse is compelling enough.
