As an ex military wife I was rather disappointed with this film. It did attempt to show what the wives go through when their men are away on operations. In the original documentary Gareth Malone takes the wives and persuades them to use music as a distraction from their sometimes stressful lives. He is truly inspirational and I felt by omitting him from the story it lost much of the reality of the original way in which they all came together. The original ladies also sounded much better than the actors who were made to sound quite pathetic for most of the time. Was looking forward to seeing this movie but wish I hadn’t bothered.
