Irreversible damage
The writing is not over thought. Definitely not raw. Maybe more medium rare definitely not without challenge.
Point about the strong mother, having the influence to provoke a teenage girl to flip the finger finally so hard and in your face that you can’t resist was often a thought of mine but then when I read it in your book, it made complete sense
I wish you would dive a little more into that area to see if it might be a strong vein of influence.
I think the black girl in the psychologist office should be a great SNL skit.
The comparison to anorexia is spot on. I watched a person die of that thinking how could your brain lie to your body so much. Now I’m watching my daughter do the same thing only in a different set of circumstances.
Thank you for changing my life and hopefully my daughters. I bought three more books. One for the therapist that is trying to tell me this is real. Another one for the school principal who is as confused as I am. And I’m sure the extra one will be found a home very soon.
I can’t imagine what it’s like to change peoples life by writing. But you have. I’m sure you already know, but just in case thought I’d reach out and tell you.
