I've played the games, and have read all the books. Henry Cavill is GREAT as Geralt of Rivia! I was unconvinced when I heard he was cast as Geralt, bc of his build and look, but he is actually very convincing as Geralt. The show follows the book short stories mostly, but also pulls some small details from the games that enhance the world overall. The story is straight from the books, but some of what happens isn't explicitly explained and knowing the books help you understand what is happening between the lines. Other than that, I think they did a tremendous job creating this show, and it holds its own as another adaptation of the books that is separate enough from the video game and the books to be original and fantastic to watch!
