Let me get started by saying not even the literal AUTHOR liked this book. The start of the story is quite promising, but as you get past about page 20, the book becomes possibly the most boring book i have ever read. The symbolism is confusing, the story is somehow boring and simple but also convoluted, which isn't something i knew was possible. The plot was linear, and while the book is filled with "symbolism," the book straight up tells you what it means and leaves nothing to ponder for the reader. The end of the story is abrupt and ties up no loose ends except what happens to the daughter, and it leaves so much to be desired. If you have to read this book for school, just look up a summary and save yourself the absolute brain**** that is this collection of page-long sentences and college-level vocabulary.
