I could excuse most of this movie's drawbacks until that scene where the boy pulls out a gun on Benny the crime lord. What?? This kid has been portrayed as street smart, he understands the system since he was himself working for another gangster. Then he decides to take a bus to pull a gun on this boss and demand he let Mary go? What was the plan? Did he expect Benny to let him walk out after that threat?? Who wrote this? I cannot believe someone would spend over 10 million dollars producing this with such shabby, unrealistic writing. I have never written a movie review ever, but I'm just completely stunned that they would write and direct that scene without anyone questioning it. I could not pay attention to anything that came next.
