Battlefield V is a game of wasted potential. I'm not a long time player of this series and I only started with Battlefield 4. In both Battlefields 4 and 1 I have around 340 hours played in each game. In Battlefield V, that number is somewhere around 30 or 40. There's a few things I enjoy about the game. I like most of the maps and the weapons are very well balanced. Unfortunately, tanks and planes, two other staples of the series, just feel odd. The controls don't feel as well as they did before. What really killed Battlefield V was it's terrible "live service". In 1.5 years after release, only about 10 new maps have been added (Edit: Just checked and 12 maps have been released as of 4/23/2020. However, one is the battle royale map (The BR is boring and dead) and two are only for Team Deathmatch. Only 9 standard large maps have been added since launch) . In 4 and 1, over 20 new maps had been added by that point. New weapons have also been added, but new weapons alone can't save the game. Multiple bugs persisted throughout much of the game's life cycle such as the "dying and unable to revived" where you need to leave the game to fix or the "tank shells don't register" one where you fire at a tank and it does zero damage. These bugs have really made the game frustrating. All in all, do not get Battlefield V. I'm glad I didn't spend any money at all on this mess (friend gave me the disc for free probably cause he was bored as well).
