I got this book for my daughter. It really brought up a topic that I thought that I would not be able to talk to her about until she was older. Surprisingly she was able to comprehend the strong messages in this book. I was able to give her the talk without traumatizing her. I don't see why little children(children of color)need to understand this but the do! What I really want to say is that this is an amazing book that a lot of children should read with their parents.
