Characters r flat, stereotypical and uninspiring. Little to no drama. Even the SFX r...meh. Paul comes off as a brooding, lovestruck teenage boy instead of the genius fremen messiah he is supposed to be. Jessica is bland and weak. And Baron Harkonnen is hardly the evil monster we're supposed to despise. This Dune was an utter disappointment. Nowhere close to Lynch's version. Lynch's execution of the characters' inner thoughts and the Bene Gesserit voice is vastly superior. His characters were interesting esp Baron Harkonnen, who was as morally grotesque as he was physically. No need to make part 2, would b a waste of $.
