John Tolliver – Google

Really nice show. Seemed to me more like a a 3 character play with grand entrances and exits. Mescal, Pascal, and Washington, (who by being as talented as he is), steals a lot of scenes. The movies on the longer side, but it really needs that time to tell the story. The 3 main stars really amplify the less visible characters roles which I don't see go often in films My only negative was the little monkey in the dress, I would have slain it if I could of.

An hour after I left the theatre, I couldn't recall any of the characters names, that's not a good sign. This movie seemed to check all the boxes, although they were all the wrong boxes. Visually the movie seemed kind of bland. It did get an R rating but maybe to try and puff up the thriller aspect, but it didn't work. The characters were bland (although they did have some good actors), so the weak story didn't really give them anything to work with. The visual effects were yawnable. I think I can honestly say I could of done better with a entertaining storyline then they did Hopefully the alien will stop returning to movie theaters and instead end up in a galaxy far far away never to return

It wasn't what I thought it would be which really made it a superior film to me. Going into it I thought it would the standard doomsday scenario. Washington being attacked, rival forces attacking. Good guys vs bad guys. I liked that it was so much more than that. The horrors of war, the toll of war, the effects of war without really preaching about the conflict itself. The building of the characters was nicely done, you're given a chance to understand the 4 primary ones pretty well before you see them thrown too heavily in the mix. I left the theatre thing about their terror, and how going into this the characters saw it as more of a dangerous but manageable job, and in the end realizing how much more it was.

I think maybe the attempt was to make a Beetlejuice type fantasy-horror-comedy film. It seemed to me though they put more effort into the opening credits than the movie itself. Did enjoy the mother/father characters, but with a very thin storyline, it just seemed like the movie was stretched to make it last as long as it did. The scenes were predicable, dialogue forgettable and was ready to leave after the first hour.

I just didn't think it was a good movie. The two primary characters I just didn't like, not from a dramatic perspective but because they seemed very one dimensional. I always like historically based characters, but this one it was just hard to connect with. It seemed rather laborious, and couldn't find one character that I could "feel" for. I enjoyed the movie thoroughly although I thought the story was peppered with ideas that didn't really fit together as homogeneous as they should. I really enjoyed the acting and CGI, but it just seemed that fitting in as many A-listers took it's toll on the overall picture. While all these quirky folks were funny, I just wondered why they were there. Just seemed like a lot of scenes didn't connect the dots very well. Really enjoyed the scenes in new Asgard, and the character interaction between Thor and Jane, but it just didn't seem to be enough.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it a two. I've never seen any of the other films in this franchise, but don't feel like I really missed anything. The acting Is horrible, and the attempts of giving the characters some depth is funny to watch. They are very good at blowing things up, which I guess is the main attraction of the film is, and they do that well (that's were the 2 stars are for). It made Clash of the Titans look like the pinnacle of cinematic excellence.
