A proper, serious film that places Batman as a crime solver, not just a vigilante. The bad guys are well drawn (great to see the Penguin as a more three dimensional character) and the action is powerful and exciting. The acting is good, and Robert Pattinson is convincing.
It is a little long, and some scenes drag a little, but these are minor niggles.
