Spider-man: Across the Spider-verse - it's totally breathtaking! ... Mannn!... I had goosebumps most of the time. I felt like I am living in those moments. And believe me there’s hardly any ordinary moment. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen even for a second. It was flawless! The visuals, animation quality, movement, art styles, backgrounds, lighting, environment, the music, characterization, story progression and the parallel build up of different characters - everything is on point. It provides even more than one can imagine. Its hands down - a masterpiece, a mile stone in animation world for this generation. It even exceeds its prequel.
In respect of story, it had some pretty good point of views. I admired how miles stands his ground on what's important and what's the right thing to do for him. I loved how the story kind of questioned the age old pattern of a tragedy leading to birth of a super hero. Even he wasn't supposed to be one, as he said he is as much of a spiderman as the other destined ones were. And that's what matters! He is doing what he is supposed to do. Tragedy, title, costume do not define a superhero, his actions and choices do.
And even being a super hero, he is no lesser of a human. Miles's fight for his own identity and individualism became very personal and relatable. The relationship among the characters, the family arcs were able to put that soft touch and create some peaceful enjoyable moments. Miles himself is a very enjoyable character. The moments between miles and Guwen was also admirable. Everything made sense and fits, even though they were not supposed to. Can't wait for the next one!... Until then keep watching this one. Do watch this one in theatre at least once.🍿🍟
