"Hollywood" intentionally creates a fantasy in which everybody wins regardless of your race or sexuality. Some may think that the conflicts in the show are too easily resolved but I think this adds to the fantasy. Conflicts in the show only serve to further elevate each character. What was initially a problem becomes an asset. I believe the intention behind this is to make the tone of the show optimistic and to make people feel like their struggles are just a part of a success story. Everything in the show works out perfectly for almost each character. I think the concept of "Dreamland" is incredibly important in understanding the style and choices. When people think about their dreams they tend to only think of the positives, and when they do consider problems they may encounter, the problems end up contributing to their journey positively. "Dreamland" is idealistic and unrealistic, because that is how it is supposed to be, that is how it is conjured up into the minds of everyday people. I think this show does a fantastic job at following a style and creating a hopeful atmosphere.
