Star Wars: Acolyte Review – A Galactic Trainwreck
"Star Wars: Acolyte" is the Death Star of disappointments. The writing is so bad, it makes Jar Jar Binks look like Shakespeare. The dialogue is as stiff as a carbonite freeze, with a plot that's more tangled than Anakin's relationship status.
Speaking of relationships, this show has a toxic one with Star Wars canon. It breaks it more often than C-3PO gets dismantled. Characters act like they've never met the original trilogy, and key events are rewritten with all the subtlety of a Wookiee in a china shop.
Even the special effects are a disaster. The CGI is as convincing as a cheap holo-recording, and the action scenes have all the excitement of watching paint dry on Tatooine. The actors do their best, but they're stuck with lines that would make a Jawa cringe.
In short, "Star Wars: Acolyte" is an unmitigated disaster. It's like the Phantom Menace but without the accidental charm. If you're a Star Wars fan, do yourself a favor and steer clear. This isn't the show you're looking for.
