This show is just a one sided opinion with the intent of hurting Christian homeschoolers or basically conservatives lol. I am a Christian homeschooler and this show is simply lies. I'm only 15 years old, but this show is so incorrect, it drove me to put my effort to prove the truth. I'd like to take this from a fairly neutral perspective. I totally agree that horrible situations can happen but only in one in a million circumstances. The general premise of these horrible situations is that these children are being brain washed. In this country, we can be brain washed but not to the extent in the show because of one reason: there is not a controlled environment. North Korea can successfully brain wash people because they don't have other countries saying otherwise. In America, the reality is that there is so much freedom, these situations rarely happen. To even make this horrible situation, there has to be an extremely controlled environment that excludes the child from social media, going outside, socializing at all ect. The reality is that not all Christian homeschoolers live like this, but this is the idea the show forces us to believe. I am a Christian homeschooler, who is involved in some of the "brain washing" organizations that were mentioned. I know hundreds of Christian homeschoolers, and it is nothing like the show. People lie for their benefit. They even got the purpose of the organizations wrong. The show basically depicted our organizations as a place where we're trying to forcefully capture the government and turn our nation into a Christian nation. This is false. I'm going to debunk this through the evidence they used to prove their point. This show actually used a clip from my friends speech where they totally misconstrued his point. The clip that was taken basically said something along the lines of "we need to spread His word to combat the darkness of this world." the way they took this was that we basically are trying to forcefully take over the world and government. In fact, he had the intentions of basically all the religions around the world: to spread our religion around the world. In the Bible, our foundation for our beliefs, non-Christians are often referred to as darkness; so, in reality, his quote is very normal idea in absolutely ANY Christian, no matter whether or not this Christian is homeschooled. If this show is willing to misconstrue the idea of a highschooler's speech, it should make you wonder how much of it is true. Once again, I am a Christian homschooler, who knows many other Christian homschoolers. This show is simply full of lies. This show says that we are being exploited. My parents have not exploited me. This show is exploiting you.
