While entertaining to watch Damon chew scenery, I felt it was rushed and without depth. I didn't care much about the characters, or feel that they experienced anguish or joy in their life's work. . It just seemed so derivative of other rescue films. The implausible ending of creating a quick bomb to gain speed was too ridiculous. It just seemed thrown together, unlike Ridley films. No gravitas, is my only real takeaway. It is a fun watch. Get thee to Prometheus if you want true dread and chilling suspense.
