I didn’t like the book and I do understand that it’s a classic but even then you don’t need to drag a description of someone’s hair on 3 pages. That’s too much. It took me a complete year to read this book as I found it really boring and tedious and stoped reading many times. Additionally I am not sure that how was I being a reader supposed to be invested in a story when Velutha doesn’t feel like a main character or their story starts after reading half of the book. Similarly I was obviously more invested in what happens with the twins and then towards end it felt like that author completely shifted the focus to make a love story novel rather than the twins and their experience. Overall good story but idk not my type at least! (Maybe I don’t understand classics or missed sth that others liked)
